IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title Match
Ultimo Dragon (c) vs. Jushin Thunder Liger

The match begins with Dragon and Liger exchanging holds, and it leads to an exchange of arm drags and trips then ends with a double dropkick. Fantastic pace at the start. Liger then locks in a submission, but is soon countered into a leg lock from Dragon. The Ultimo Dragon works over the leg for the next minute or so, but Liger soon reverses it. Jim Ross and Larry Zbyszko open the show and talk about Vader’s win of the WCW World Heavyweight Championship

Marcus Bagwell vs. Bob Cook
Bob Cook smiles when he’s introduced, and quickly changes his facial expression to an angry look. It’s almost like he forgot he was trying to play the heel against Bagwell. The match opens with a little chain wrestling. Not much to be said for the match overall, but it wasn’t bad. Cook dominated the early stages of the match, and this allowed for the classic come from behind win for Bagwell. Bagwell pins Cook with a Fisherman’s Suplex. Brian Pillman, Barry Windham, and Steve Austin vs. Brad Armstrong, Johhny B. Badd, and 2 Cold Scorpio

The crowd was really hot in this match. Lots of quick tags from both sides, make all the guys look good. The match breaks down into a huge brawl between all six guys, and the ending comes after Windham hits a great looking implant DDT on Brad Armstrong. Ross and Zbyszko talk about how The Barbarian and Cactus Jack are becoming fan favourites.

Scotty Flamingo and Bob Cook vs. Johnny B. Badd and Marcus Bagwell

Bob Cook seemed out of place in this match with the colourful characters of the other 3 wrestlers (although Bagwell was still relatively bland at this point). With that being said, Cook is still a half decent worker and does a good job in helping to put Badd and Bagwell over. One really great moment in the match came when Badd and Flamingo were running the ropes back and forth several times and they both go for a flying cross body and collide in midair. Bagwell gets the pin after hitting Cook with a backslide. Continue reading WCW Saturday Night – January 23, 1993

Chris Benoit vs. The Z-Man

This matches opens with a lot of chain wrestling from both men, and is a decent contest overall. The crowd was really hot in this one, booing Benoit, and cheering The Z-Man. The end of the match comes after Benoit hits a big dropkick from the top rope, and follows it with a Dragon Suplex. Continue reading WCW Saturday Night – January 30, 1993
